Competing in this world famous marathon is a dream to millions, many of whom try for years to secure a place.  The London Marathon  is one of the world’s greatest sporting events, and we want to help you be a part of it.  There are two ways to enter the 2012 London Marathon – through the ballot entry system (often referred to as ‘own place’) or by registering for a charity place and committing to raise a certain amount of sponsorship.

The ballot has now closed – if you entered it and are interested in running on our behalf please let us know.  When you hear from the ballot in October we can either support you with your own place, or discuss offering you one of our limited places.

Own place.  If you are successful in gaining a ballot place, congratulations!  As part of our team you will have access to all the same benefits as our guaranteed charity place runners but without the sponsorship target.  We only have a limited amount of guaranteed places available, so we really appreciate any sponsorship money raised by people with their own places.  Please just get in touch and we will welcome you to the team.

Charity place.  To qualify for one of our guaranteed charity places, we ask each participant to pay an upfront registration fee of £25 and then pledge to raise £2,000 in sponsorship.  We provide plenty of support and help with this so do not feel you are on your own!  We receive more applications than we have places, so we will run our own ballot system later on in the year based on who we think can fundraise the most successfully for us.  Feel free to complete a registration form and email it back to fundraising@mpdvoice.org.uk.

To speak to the Guy’s & St Thomas’ (GSTT) Events team, call 020 7847 4332 or email fundraising@gsttcharity.org.uk  and remember to mention that you are running for MPD Voice!

Why should I join the MPD Voice’s team?

As a member of our team you will receive:

  • A welcome pack packed with fundraising tips and expert training and nutrition advice
  • An MPD Voice t-shirt
  • Invitations to running training nights, a pre-marathon pasta party and weekend training afternoons
  • Multiple cheering points along the route
  • A post-race reception with free food and massages
  • Excellent customer care from the moment you register
